The law on freedom of religion enters into force. The constitution of 1919 already allowed Finnish citizens the right to practice religion of their choice and to dissociate themselves from a religious community and join another religious denomination.

The law on the University of Helsinki retains both Finnish and Swedish as languages of instruction, which causes discontent among the Fennoman circles.
