The Paris Olympic Congress removes Finland and Bohemia from among the countries eligible for the Olympic Games. Russia offers Finns the opportunity to participate in the 1916 Berlin Games as part of the Russian team.

Governor-General F. A. Seyn declares a state of war in Finland.

The Jaeger movement is established in Helsinki with the aim of getting military training for Finnish volunteers. The goal is to create an efficient and well-trained military unit to lead Finland’s breakaway from Russia when the opportunity arises.
