1912

10 January

The first Finnish law in the all-Russian legislation system is passed. It concerns the “military millions” which Finland is supposed to pay to compensate for the abolishment of conscription.

20 January

The law on non-discrimination is signed; Russian subjects, who are not citizens of Finland, receive the same rights as Finnish citizens.

28 February

The Finnish pilot institution is subjugated to the Russian Maritime Administration, which leads to the replacement of Finnish pilots by Russian ones.

6 – 27 July

The Finnish team achieves great success at the Stockholm Olympic Games with three gold medals won by Hannes Kolehmainen. Altogether, the team wins 26 medals.

1 October

The first Russian-born members are appointed as members of the Finnish Senate.
