A new declaration by the gracious sovereign narrows down Finland’s authority over laws and regulations that are considered to have general national significance.

26 May

The parliament asks Nicholas II to uphold the Finnish constitution.

10 June

Despite opposition from the Finnish parliament, the State Duma approves a proposal to extend the all-Russian legislation system to include Finland.

22 October

In Finland’s first ever international football match, Sweden beats the Finnish national team by five goals to two at Eläintarha soccer field.

22 November

The Senate bans the scout movement that started in Finland the previous year. Scout activities are said to be too much like military training.
